about

Vertical Structures was performed live at Shimokitazawa "Apollo" in Tokyo, Japan on February 26th, 2015. It is a live performance and on the piece I use a Theremin, contact microphones, a small modular synthesizer and loop-pedals.

The piece is an exploration of blocks of sounds superimposed in vertical structures. The piece is constructed on an interplay between different dynamic and dramatical elements as well as pitched and non pitched materials. I explore microtonality as well as smashed sound clusters in the performance. The piece is inspired by the vast skyline of Tokyo.
